Bio

Dr Oktay Cetinkaya (Senior Member, IEEE) is a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Engineering Science of the University of Oxford, working as a Synthesis Fellow of the PETRAS National Centre of Excellence for IoT Systems Cybersecurity.

Before joining Oxford e-Research Centre (OeRC) at the Department in April 2022 to synthesise the diverse elements of the PETRAS research base, he was a Research Associate in Wireless Network Performance at The University of Sheffield and a Research Fellow in Networked Embedded Systems at the University of Southampton for two years each. From January 2021 to June 2023, he also worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Koc University, funded by Prof. Akan's AXA Chair in Internet of Everything project.

Dr Cetinkaya received his PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Koc University, Turkey, in January 2018. He has a double major in Electrical Engineering (ranked 1st in the Department & 2nd in the Faculty among 250+ studetns, -High Honours Degree) & Electronics and Communication Engineering (High Honours Degree), awarded by Yildiz Technical University, Turkey, in June 2013 and February 2014, respectively.

His research interests include energy harvesting, wireless power transfer, drone networking, and the Internet of Things (IoT), on which he has co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in highly-respected journals, conference proceedings, and book series.
